I name what is,
I ask for meaning.
You turn away,
turn closeness into noise.
I pause,
I hear the voice.
It carries no measure,
only release.
I step back.
Not in flight,
but in clarity
Now silence is needed.
Distance is not attack.
Silence no judgment.
I stay with myself.
I speak to you with honest words
I see you, I can feel your face
You look at me with bitter eyes
You look at me with rage and frost
Then you begin to sing so gently
Shaping words without all measure
Letting out what stays inside
Your tongue divides what still lives
The swan turns guidance into threat
The swan requires an enemy
The swan allows no open choice
The swan refuses to be seen
The swan is changing all its feathers
They darken like the coming night
The white has passed,
The grey now cuts through sight
The swan does not want revelation
No opening of inner ground
It hides itself in deepest layers
Appearing only when it wants
The swan does not accept a rule
The swan itself becomes the law
It names the path, it points the way
Until the feathers fall away
If only I had listened deeper
If only I had truly heard
What lived inside stayed covered
And so remained unheard
