In this prayer, the bride speaks—in response to the bridegroom's call
Jesus calls his bride from among the mass of believers, hoping she will hear him
These are the seven voices addressed to his bride—seven reflections of his call: love, faithfulness, purification, exaltation, sanctification, belonging, and consummation
This prayer is the bride's response
It speaks from the heart of those who say, I belong to you—make me ready
In the letters of Revelation, Christ speaks to his church—not as an accuser, but as the loving one who leads them to consummation
Each part of this prayer responds to one of these voices
It is the bride's conscious yes, allowing herself to be inwardly prepared for his return
You call me back to that first, burning love
I turn away from all my actions and open my heart anew to you
Not my actions shall speak, but my devotion
You do not demand performance from me, but faithfulness in your trials
I confess: My strength is small, yet my love shall not waver
You are my crown, my life, my purpose
You show me where my heart is divided
I separate myself from everything that distances me from you
I will tolerate no foreign voice, no other master
You alone shall possess my love
You purify me so that I may reign with you
I accept your strong hand not as punishment, but as preparation
You give me the morning star—yourself—as a sign of your nearness
You call me from the illusion of outward faith into the truth of inner life
I awaken, I prepare my garment
Purify me, that I may be worthy to stand before you on your day
You place me as a pillar in your house, firmly established in your presence
Never again shall I be separated from you
I take your name—as the seal of my eternal belonging
You stand at the door of my life and knock
I open to you. Come in, my Lord and God
Take me to your side and complete in me what you have begun
Not beneath you, but in you—one with you in love, dominion, and glory
